On World Press freedom Day, SNTP recalled, this Saturday, May 3, which there are currently 35 prosecuted journalists, of which 15 are imprisoned, 12 have precautionary measures and another 8 face interrogations or escape arrest warrants.
The information was published in a statement in which the SNTP warned that in Venezuela there is a deterioration in the conditions for the exercise of free press and the “very serious the illegal and arbitrary use of anti -terrorism laws as a tool to silence.”

“Access to public information remains precarious, with state officials who evade their responsibility to account for issues that are under their responsibility,” the text said.

The SNTP called on the State institutions and the Venezuelan justice system to guarantee the immediate and unconditional liberation of the 15 journalists and workers arbitrarily arrested, as well as the cessation of all the judicial processes unfounded against those who exercise the informative work.
