Surrounded by mining leaders in the department of Oruro, the president of the Senate broke his silence regarding his presidential candidacy and said he accepted to be a applicant to the chair of the burned palace.
“Yes, I accept,” said Andronón Rodríguez, after pointing out that this response is due to the orders he has received from different social sectors of La Paz, Oruro, Cochabamba, El Alto, Santa Cruz, Tarija and groups of health workers, teachers and others, which for several weeks had been mentioning his name as a candidate to tertiary for the national elections.
It is not yet known with which acronym will be registered for the elections, but it is speculated that there are approaches with the Third System (MTS) movement, by Felix Patzi, and Morena, new national group of the mayor of El Alto, Eva Cup.
With him in the race, the number of candidates for the national elections of August 17 rose to eight. The candidates to consolidate their registration until May 19 are: Jorge ‘Tuto’ Quiroga, Samuel Doria Medina, Evo Morales, Jaime Dunn, Ricardo Paz, Manfred Reyes Villa, Luis Arce and now Andronón Rodríguez.
