Almería, May 4 (EFE) .- The forest fire declared in the early hours of Saturday in the El Pocico place, in the municipality of Huércal de Almería, has forced to activate the pre-emergence phase of the infoca plan before its uncertain evolution, although it has not supposed for the moment a risk for the population, as reported by the Junta de Andalucía and the Emergency Service 112.
The fire, whose origin has been attributed to the fall of lightning during a thunderstorm, affects an area of Spartizal and scrubland in the Sierra de Gádor, among the municipalities of Huércal de Almería, Enix and Gádor.
Despite their visibility from different locations in the environment, the authorities have reiterated that the fire is kept away from inhabited nuclei.
The Minister of the Presidency, Interior, Social Dialogue and Administrative Simplification, Antonio Sanz, as director of the Emergency Plan for Forest Fire of Andalusia, activated at 22.37 hours on Saturday the pre -emergence phase (operational situation 0), in application of the proposed protocol in situations with possible unfavorable evolution.
During Saturday, the operation of the Infoca Plan was extended progressively to the wind changes recorded in the area.
In the most intensity moments, more than a hundred troops, including two superpuma helicopters and one semi -sheds, eight forest fire groups, four Brica Brigades, five operations technicians, three environmental agents and a pombomba, participated.
At night, and without aerial means, the device was reorganized with six groups of forest firefighters, three pumps, two operations technicians and three environmental agents, keeping active and vigilant on the ground.
The 112 has attended more than a hundred calls from the early hours of Saturday, with notices from Huércal de Almería, Almería Capital, Benahadux, Enix and Gádor, where there was finally a preventive eviction at the request of the Civil Guard.
As the mayor of Gádor, Lourdes Ramos, told Efe, about twenty people were evacuated from the Las Balsas site, although the situation was controlled around 8:00 p.m.
In addition to the Infoca, in the Global Fire Attention and Coordination Device, members of the Firefighters Consortium of the Poniente, Civil Guard, National Police and its attached units have intervened; as well as the local police of the affected municipalities and civil protection services.
From the City of Huércal de Almería they have stressed that the patron saint festivities of the municipality continue to develop normally and have not been interrupted by the incident.
