Lima, May 4 (EFE) .- The largest conglomerate of business guilds in Peru said Sunday that the Peruvian state has “lost control of security” in the province of Pataz, as “in much of the country”, condemning the “savage” murder of 13 workers of the powerful gold mine in that town.
The National Confederation of Private Business Institutions (Confiep) and its associated unions expressed in a pronouncement their condolences and solidarity with the families of the victims.
The so -called Guild Guild added that this “spiral of violence”, which already has 39 murders only in the Pataz area, is “a reflection of a problem of lack of control” that is happening throughout the country.
“The barbarism exhibited in the execution of these 13 miners, previously kidnapped, moves us to the years in which they acted in the Luminous Path and the MRTA country,” added the Confiep in allusion to the armed groups considered triggered of the armed conflict (1980-2000) that caused the death of 69,000 people.
Likewise, the Confederation said that this crime demonstrates, once again, that “illegal economies have absolute control in the Pataz area, which is de facto a released area, despite being in a state of emergency.”
He stressed that it is “unacceptable” that the State as a whole, executive, legislative, judicial and public ministry powers, “are not up to the circumstances and what the country demands.”
The Confiep recalled that, in repeated opportunities, they have stated that the problem of organized crime is not addressed with the responsibility that requires and is responsible for an articulated state council.
He affirmed that only through the determined struggle of the State as a whole against the sources of financing of these illegal organizations; With intelligence actions, and police officers and articulated prosecutors to ensure that criminals pay for their actions, the armed bands and their terrorist practices can be weakened.
The conglomerate of guilds reiterated that it is necessary that the powers of the State “take this situation with the seriousness and urgency that the population demands” and feel to work together, which is “the least that a citizen of their authorities can expect.”
In the same way, the National Society of Mining, Petroleum and Energy (SNMPE) of Peru condemned this Sunday the “cruel murder” of 13 workers of the powerful gold mine by illegal miners who, as they denounce, have unleashed “a wave of terror.”
In the same province of Pataz, an ambush of alleged illegal miners against workers of the Araracoto Mining Camp, on Saturday, left eight injured, including two police officers, who were evacuated by helicopter.
In response to the murders in Pataz, the Interior Ministry announced that the Police will send an elite team of the special group against organized crime to the area. EFE
