I am long
After a gloomy, stormy Saturday, sunshine was abundant Sunday across central and south Alabama. Temperatures were cooler in the wake of a cold front that moved through our area Saturday night. Morning lows were in the 50s. High temperatures were only in the low to mid 70s in most locations, well below average (83°) for May 4th. Sunday night looks mainly clear and cool, with lows in the upper 40s to low 50s.
Monday looks like another mostly sunny and dry day, with high temperatures in the 70s to near 80°. Clouds increase Tuesday, with perhaps a few stray showers late. High temperatures range from the low to mid 80s. rain returns in earnest Wednesday. There may be widespread soaking rain covering our area at sunrise, with additional showers through the afternoon.
It now looks like rain coverage may trend down towards the end of the week. In fact, Sunday’s longer-range model runs suggest sunny and dry weather for Mother’s day weekend. However, just Saturday, models showed a lengthy unsettled weather pattern continuing through early next week. For now, rain chances were lowered Friday and beyond, but know that could flip back in the other direction between now and then.
