Latest Manchester United news and gossip as Antony impresses yet again during his loan spell with Real Betis
Manchester United loanee Antony has issued two messages after starring once again for Real Betis.
Antony left United during the January transfer window to complete a loan move to Betis for the remainder of the season.
The Brazilian had scored just one goal across 14 appearances for United in the first half of the campaign before completing a loan move to Spain, where he has since flourished in Seville.
On Sunday night, Antony was the star for Betis once again as he scored a stoppage-time winner for the La Liga outfit. Betis claimed a 2-1 win away at Espanyol, with Antony scoring the winning goal from long-range in the 91st minute after former Tottenham Hotspur star Giovani Lo Celso equalised a few minutes earlier.
The strike was Antony’s seventh goal since signing for Betis on loan in the January transfer window, and the United loanee has issued two messages following his performance.
First, Antony posted on his Instagram story which featured a clip of the United star celebrating his winning goal for Betis. The clip was accompanied by a caption which read: “I am enlightened by Jesus,” translated from Portuguese.
Antony then took to Instagram again to issue a second message, this time with photos from his goal celebration.
The United loanee accompanied the post with a five-word caption which read: “Living my dream with you!” This was also translated from Portuguese, and Antony tagged Real Betis’ account in the post.
Antony will return to United this summer following his loan spell but faces an uncertain future at Old Trafford.
The Manchester Evening News has reported that United may look to sell Antony when the summer transfer window opens.
United would need to receive a fee worth at least £32.52million in order to avoid making a loss under the Premier League’s Profit & Sustainability Rules (PSR) this summer.
Antony arrived in the summer of 2022 after signing a five-year contract, with United agreeing an initial £81.3million fee with Ajax.
