Arlington, Texas (AP)-Corey Seager and the Cuban Adolis Garcia connected two racing singles to highlight a third six-run input, Jacob Degrom won their second consecutive openness and the Rangers beat the Seattle sailors 8-1 on Sunday to end a streak of four consecutive losses, the longest of the season.
Degrom (2-1) allowed a race and three hits in five entries. His 89 releases were seven less than his maximum of the season. He had three strikeouts to exceed 1,700 in his career, becoming the thirteenth active player of the major leagues to reach this milestone.
Texas had been limited to two or less races in eight of its previous nine games. The other was a 15-2 beating over athletics last Tuesday at the previous opening of Degrom.
The sailors, leaders of the west, saw their best winning streak of the six games season, but on Saturday they claimed to win their sixth series in a row. They had won their first five games against the Rangers this season.
For the sailors, the Dominicans Jorge Polanco de 3-0, Julio Rodríguez, 3-1. Cuban Randy Arozarena, 3-1.
For the Rangers, the Cuban Adolis García, 4-2 with two towed.
