An operation of the Gope of Carabineros was deployed on Monday in Providencia, after the discovery of a suspicious object, which looks like a grenade, in the gardens of a building located in Eleodoro Yáñez with Rafael Cañas.
The notice was given by a person in charge of cleaning, which led to the preventive evacuation of six people in the property and the cordoning of the area.
Initially, one of the evacuated neighbors commented: “We do not know yet whether it is real or not, but everyone’s safety is the first.”
Subsequently, the largest of Carabineros, Cristián Lobovsky, confirmed that it was a grenade, but inactive, without load and without detonation mechanism.
The armament was removed and transferred to Gope units to carry out more studies.
In addition, it will investigate how the object arrived to the plant sector of the aforementioned building, which is currently unknown.
The corner where this incident occurs is the same in which a week ago, two drivers starred in a violent fight.
