The first in Latin America. At the end of March Chile launched the first Pilot Plan for Biodiversity Business Actionwhich formalizes the private sector work in the protection of nature and biodiversity.
This was designed by six ministries, large companies, academics and work tables in five regions, reinforcing the collaborative model.
This plan establishes biodiversity as a strategic opportunity, with benefits such as risk management and sustainable models. With monitoring until 2030, it allows to adapt actions to the next challenges.

Strategic axes
This pioneer initiative, which is also being carried out in Malaysia, South Africa and Colombiais co -financed by the World Environment Fund (GEF) in Association with Conservation International as an implementing agency of the GEF and Business for Nature as an executing partner.
Its purpose is to generate a work model that allows companies Identify, measure and manage its impacts and dependencies of nature, promoting sustainable practices and aligned with global biodiversity commitments.
The plan is based on a road map to align the business and financial sector. Your approach manifests itself in five strategic axes: Creation of capacities, metrics, innovation and financing, in addition to a transverse axis oriented to establish a governance structure that guarantees its effective implementation.
In this way, the Plan seeks to establish a long -term governance and coordination mechanism, facilitate the development of tools and metrics for decision -making, promote investment in nature -based solutions and strengthen collaboration between key actors.

Involved actors
The plan design was headed by Companies in collaboration with the Ministry of the Environment and with the support of a public-private table.
The latter composed of companies acts energy, AES Chile, Aguas Andinas, Antofagasta Minerals, Anglo American Chile, Arauco, Bayer, CMPC, Colbún, Copec, Nestlé, Nutrisco, SQM Lithium and Syngenta.
In addition, public organizations such as the Agency Sustainability and Climate Change, CONAF, Corfo, Program Transforma Climate Change, and the Ministries of Housing and Urban Planning, Finance, Economy and Energy, adding the technical support of experts of the Academy of the University of Concepción, University of Development and the CLAPES Center of the UC.
The latest companies that adhered to the plan in 2025 are: Iansa, Innergex, Statkraft, UNACEM, VSPT Wine Group.
