Gary Neville puts Cole Palmer in same category as Cristiano Ronaldo

Former Manchester United defender Gary Neville has put a current Chelsea player in the same category as legend Cristiano Ronaldo.

The new comes after Chelsea beat Premier League winners Liverpool 3-1 at Stamford Bridge on Sunday afternoon in what was a fantastic overall performance by The Blues.

EXCLUSIVE! Chelsea now looking at move for 6ft 4in France Team international defender!!

Cole Palmer was back in fine form for Chelsea and is one of the reasons that they put in such a performance, with the stats proving this as well.

Palmer was also involved in Chelsea’s goal of the game in the opening minutes, as well as some good by Romeo Lavia and Pedro Neto to setup Enzo Fernandez to provide a lovely finish to get things going.

It was a fine defensive display from Chelsea yesterday. Whenever I was watching them defend they did it in numbers and stayed in a very compact shape, not giving any chances for Liverpool to breakthrough.

It was the opposite from the Chelsea we have been used to seeing this , one who want to be on the all the controlling things. But it was a great Chelsea performance.

Palmer in Ronaldo category

Palmer was superb for Chelsea yesterday, and Neville has put him in the same category as his former United team mate Cristiano Ronaldo.

Via SPTC, Neville said on Palmer:

“He’s nowhere near the level of Cristiano Ronaldo, but I’m putting him in the same sentence here. I think Cole Palmer has earned the for the ability that he’s got to put himself in that category whereby, wherever the game is for Chelsea, he can go and put himself there.

“Looking at the first goal. I remember playing against players that did things that were sort of like took them into the ‘-class’ category.

“Just intelligence, understanding, timing of movement and that double movement and the spin. what he did to Curtis Jones on that first goal was really special.”
