The prices of the different Courts of Vaccine meat rose on average 4.1% during April, according to the latest report of the Institute for the Promotion of the Argentine Vaccine Meat (IPCVA). The survey was carried out in 80 butchers located in the Metropolitan Area of Buenos Aires (AMBA), Córdoba and Rosario.
With this increase, the accumulated in the first four months of the year reached 24.07%, while compared to April 2024, the rise reached 60.1%.
The chicken led the increases of the month
The fresh chicken showed the largest monthly increase among the meats surveyed, with a rise of 10.7% in April compared to March. In the first four -month period, its increase was 15.6%, and in the year -on -year comparison they climbed 47.6%.
On the other hand, the Pork Pechito registered a more moderate monthly variation, of 3.1%. The annual accumulated was 7.18% and the interannual was 61.3%.
Increases by Finance category
According to the IPCVA, prices also varied according to the category of the slaughtered animal:
- Cormith meat: it rose 3.5%
- Carm meat: climbed 4.6%
- Head and veal meat: 5.9% rose
On average, the price of light categories of retail consumption increased 4.1% compared to March.
Differences according to the socioeconomic level
The report revealed disparities in the evolution of prices according to the socioeconomic level of the surveyed neighborhoods:
- Shops in areas of High level: +2,7%
- Shops in areas of Average level: +5,1%
- Shops in areas of Low level: +3,4%
Variations by region and type of commerce
Greater Buenos Aires presented significant differences between its zones:
- North of the GBA: +6,1%
- South of the GBA: +5,1%
- West of the GBA: +4,1%
- Capital Federal: +2,4%
As for the point of sale, butchers showed an average increase of 4.8%, while in supermarkets the variation was 2.6%.
