Chihuahua.- The past fire in the Sierra del Mogote could have been caused by some human carelessness, together with the dryness of the area, according to the Municipal Civil Protection Coordination (CMPC) of Chihuahua, which attended the incident with five elements and support of a unit of the Fire Department and Rescue.
This incident was the night of Saturday, May 3 in the north of the city, behind Bahías de San Quintín and Rinconadas de la Sierra, an area of approximately two hectares.
Because it is an aggregate and difficult access area, the fighters had to control going foot to perform the jobs, without any major mishaps.
For this and other incidents, the authority urges the population to avoid burning weeds, garbage and/or tires, since they can cause a fire.
As Patricia Alvarado explained, in charge of the Corporation Prevention Department, the burns of grass and waste cause serious affectations to the environment, to the fauna and the people, coupled with the material damage that can cause trees, homes, cars, cars and others.
It is also important not to throw cigarette butts lit in spaces where dry grass abounds or there are garbage clusters, because they are usually ideal for the generation of conflagrations, as well as avoid bonfires on field days, or, failing that, extinguish them properly when they retire.
