UDA Medicine students perform sexuality and drug prevention workshops to students from Salesianos Copiapó – Atacama News

Medicine at the University of Atacama, carried out sexuality and drug prevention workshops, to the students of the Salesian industrial Copiapó, where topics such as the importance of prevention were touched to avoid falling into the consumption of illicit substances such as drugs and the relevant thing that is to become aware of responsible sexuality.

It is important that students receive on sexuality and drug prevention to generate self-care behaviors in mental and physical health, and that young people learn to take responsibility for their decisions knowing the consequences of drug use and the importance of having, a sexuality responsible at each stage of their lives.

During the workshops the students learned the main risk behaviors, in addition to their physical and social impact. This with the aim of raising awareness about the impact that alcohol and other drugs can have in their lives. This seeks that young people can critically reflect how, at present, social and cultural pressures consumption and our behavior

It is essential to promote comprehensive care and well -being with young people, as well as to promote trust networks and links that are established in adolescence, as a protective factor. Timely information helps young people incorporate preventive and self -care behaviors in matters as important as sexuality and drug prevention.
