An attack of hitmen registered on Monday night, May 5, in the Pachinche sector in the middle, Columbus Parish, Portoviejo Canton, left a balance of two deceased people and two wounds. The incident, occurred after 20:00, triggered a police prosecution that culminated in the arrest of three alleged members of the criminal group The wolvesamong them a teenager.
According to the police, hitmen aboard a vehicle persecuted a man, identified as Julio Catagua Zambrano, who was the main objective of the attack and died in the place due to multiple shots.
In the middle of the shooting, another man, a collateral victim, was injured and subsequently died at the Portoviejo Specialties Hospital, where the Silver Code was activated to guarantee security. In addition, two more people were injured and were transferred to the same health house.
