Colombia will be the guest country of honor in the 33rd edition of the Monterrey’s International Book Fairwhich will be held between October 11 and 19, 2025 in Mexico.
This was announced this week by the organization of the cultural event and the National Library of Colombia itself, which confirmed that the Participation of our country will be headed by the library of Colombian writersa collection promoted by the National Library and the Ministry of Cultures, which brings together texts by 97 authors from the seventeenth century to the present.
With a stand of 200 square meters, the country will show not only its editorial wealth, but also a cultural program that includes literary presentations, interdisciplinary meetings, and academic activities focused on Latin American literature. Authors like Laura Ortiz Gómez, Efrén Giraldo, Rómulo Bustos, Pilar Quintana and Giuseppe Caputo They integrate the official delegation.

In its 2024 edition, the Fair brought together more than 315,000 visitors, consolidating itself as one of the key scenarios of the Hispanic -American editorial circuit.
The collection of Colombian writers will be presented as a central narrative hilowith volumes of poetry, chronicle, dramaturgy, essay and children’s literature. “We are excited to share this collection with the Latin American public. It gives an account of the role of women in the intellectual history of the country,” said Adriana Martínez-Villalba, director of the National Library.

In addition to editorial releases, the program will include a Congress of Children’s and Youth Literature, science fiction and terror tables, and debates about the crossing between literature, theater, cinema and journalism. The proposal is part of the ‘Colombia in the World’ strategyled by the Foreign Ministry and the Ministry of Cultures.
