Although Tesla has lost rhythm and sales volume of its electric vehicles, it is still well positioned in the registration ranks of some countries. But there is one thing that Elon Musk has to comply, and in which Volvo has advanced to the US firm in a pleasant way, 100% electric trucks.
The Semi Tesla aspired to be an ambitious project when it was presented for the first time in 2017, but the truth is that this promise now has an important delay, another one.
A promise of Elon Musk still to fulfill
Although in 2020 the first deliveries of Elon Musk’s electric truck should have started, the reality is that they finally did the same in 2022, and in a very small volume, as a way to test the Tesla Semi.
And the truth is that in principle Pepsico, one of its most important clients, demonstrated the real capabilities of the zero emissions truck, but since then we have had few more news. Not even Pepsico has received all the units he commissioned, and other clients have tired and reduced or canceled their orders.
Less than a year ago, it was estimated that some 70 semi -production tesla had been manufactured in total, and currently there is talk of no more than 140, which are much less than the thousands that Musk promised that they were going to have already circulating along the roads around the world.
Thus, things for Tesla, and in parallel, Volvo has been developing, improving and launching a fleet of electric trucks that are convincing customers who try them. And it takes it much better than Elon Musk’s brand, as Volvo boasts of having sold his electric truck number 5,000 already.

Meanwhile, it is still waiting for Elon Musk to announce the mass production promised in January through the extension of the Nevada facilities and that it should begin at the end of this year 2025. Although there are those who say that, with the situation that the manufacturer is going through right now, the Tesla Semi project can be given by paralyzed, at least temporarily.
In the case of the Volvo Trucks truck division, it seems that the business has been well oriented, because in their information they speak of customers of more than 50 different countries, who have opted for one of the 8 100% electric models they offer, a much more ambitious offer than Tesla and underway since 2019.
