A 14 -year -old boy died on Tuesday morning after bathing on the banks of the Poza Onda River, in the Yocoima parish of the Caroní municipality.
Apparently, the teenager shared with other friends, who observed when he immersed himself in the water, but disappeared, so his companions began the search for the area and after several hours they found his body.
Allegedly, the student’s body was at the bottom of the flow with one of his feet trapped in the rocks.
Those present rescued the body and notified the authorities on the case, who transferred it to the headquarters of the National Service of Medicine and Forensic Sciences, to determine the cause of death through an autopsy.
Other cases in river
On April 1, the body of a young woman who died in similar circumstances was also found.
The student of La Salle left her residence in Barrio Guayana and went to the river, specifically to the Sabana de Piedra sector, with some colleagues.
-However, after the hours that did not arrive at his house, his mother asked his teammates and it was when he learned of the fatal news.
Days later, another young man shared with his family, this time, in the river of the Red Campo sector, but apparently he was caught by the current and also died by immersion.
Subsequently, in another event that occurred on Saturday, April 19, the victims were two 11 and 7 -year -old children respectively, who crossed with their family in a curly from Fajardo Island to San Félix to make their daily purchases.
The boat turned and some fishermen were able to help them, however, the two minors could not be rescued safely.
The girl was found lifeless that same day, while her brother was missing and after a few days, the authorities gave up the search.
