San José, May 07 (EFE) .- The government of Nicaragua, who run the spouses and co-presidents Daniel Ortega and Rosario Murillo, condemned on Wednesday the announced new strategy of Israel to expand their military operations in the Gaza Strip, which Nicaraguan authorities described as “fascist savagery.”
“Deeply outraged, deeply insulted and assaulted in our status as a human family, we denounce with all the energy of our spirit, and condemn and repudiate again the fascist savagery of the state of Israel, which threatens to finish destroying gaza and award all that sovereign and heroic strip,” said the Nicaraguan Executive in a statement.
In the note, signed by Ortega and Murillo, Nicaragua informed that he has requested from the United Nations an emergency session of the Commission for Recognition and Support for the Palestinian People, of which they are vice presidents, “to demand, from the most energetic human feeling of repulsion and condemnation, to that organization of which we are part, immediate action to stop the barbarism.”
“From the judgments that we have pending before the International Court of Justice, we are also demanding respect and immediate action, in the name of humanity,” the declaration concluded.
-The Israeli government gave Luz Verde last Monday to implement a new military campaign to “occupy and retain the territories” of the Gaza Strip, beaten by the Israeli bombs for more than a year and a half and to resume the entry of help through North American companies to deprive Hamas of their control.
“The plan will include, among other things, the occupation of the strip, the retention of the territories and the movement of the population of Gaza to the south,” said an official Israeli source, despite the fact that the Israel army currently already occupies part of the south of the enclave with the recent appropriation of the city of Rafah.
The Government of Ortega and Murillo broke diplomatic relations with Israel in October 2024, in solidarity with Palestine and “at one year of the brutal genocide that continues to commit the fascist and criminal government of Israel’s war against the Palestinian people.”
In October 2023, Ortega, 79 and in power since 2007, declared himself “always supportive with the Palestinian cause” and condemned the “aggravation” of the “terrible” conflict between Israel and Palestine. EFE
