Madrid, (Efeverde)-. Alianza Verde has led to the Congress of Deputies a battery of questions about the causes of fire growth in recycling and waste management plants.
The initiative coincides with the fire registered this week in a plant in the Valencian municipality of Chair, which has forced the circulation of closeness trains between the towns of Silla and Catarroja, a situation that has been caused more times, and that does not present any reason that justifies the increase of fires in recycling plants, they explain from Alianza Verde in a statement.
The initiative has been registered together together with the political formation of Unidos Pode Recycling were affected.
Background
In December 2017, the Coordinator of the Verdez Juantxo López de Uracde Alianza, asked the Public Ministry to investigate the link between the fires that occurred in recycling plants and the “economic interests”, which indicate from the environmental training. A few months later, in March 2018, proceedings were opened and the Prosecutor’s Office and Urban Planning put the focus on this issue.
This initiative that also had complaints to European justice at the time, had no effect on reducing the number of fires in recycling plants in Spain, they point out from Alianza Verde.
For López de Uracde: “The numerous fires that continue to proliferate in recycling and waste management plants are only the tip of the iceberg of the lack of control in waste management, and probably hide other interests that need to be investigated. An audit that reaches the end is urgent and can be clarified what interests are behind these numerous fires that proliferate throughout the territory.”

In this sense, the environmental organization claims the specific data to the Ministry on fires in waste management plants and the opening of a deep investigation to find the causes of these facts.
