The Port Authority of Castellón closed the financial year of 2024 with a benefit of 12.98 million eurosthe highest recorded in its 123 years of existence.
The business figure also reflects this positive trend, reaching 26.59 million euros, which represents a 3.3% increase compared to 2023. This growth reflects a good budget execution, with an execution of 101.42%.
Another key indicator is the result before taxes, which stood at 4.25 million euros, exceeding more than 500% the initial budget forecast. This result implies a growth of 21.43% compared to the previous year, well above the average of the national port system, which stood at 10.2%.
-Port Movement
The port movement was one of the engines of these good results. Portcastelló moved in 2024 a total of 17.44 million tons, an increase of 10.98% compared to the previous year, rather than tripling the average growth of the Spanish port system (2.7%).
In addition, income from use rates – which include goods, ships and passage – have reached 11.26 million euros, with a growth of 10.5%, again above the average system (3.1%). The rates for management of the public domain have also maintained their solidity, with 7 million euros per occupation and 4.7 million per activity, in line with the results of the previous year.
As for Ebitda, Portcastelló reached 5.28 million euros, an increase of 11.86%, well above the expected (2.78 million) was expected, which demonstrates a significant improvement in operational profitability.
Economic strengthening is also reflected in the growth of the asset, which increases by 28 million euros in its non -current component, reaching 292.49 million euros. To this is added a current asset of 60.49 million and an improvement in the level of indebtedness, which has been reduced compared to the previous year.
