Although it is going through one of the most unstable stages throughout its history, with the exit of talents such as Gawr Gura and Nanashi Mmeii, the Vtubers agency “Hololive Production” continues to demonstrate its absolute power in the streaming industry. According to the most recent Stream Charts report, in collaboration with VSTATs, the first 2025 quarter was historic for virtual streamers, first registering more than 500 million hours viewed in total.
The funny thing is that this was achieved with less active streamers than a couple of years ago. But, instead of turning off, those that are still standing have achieved larger audiences than ever, and that has been enough for Hololive Production to continue dominating platforms such as YouTube and Twitch without much problem. Of course, the situation in Hololive in has been quite moved since the late 2024. One after another, several very dear Vtubers have announced their graduation.
The most recent and painful was that of Gawr Gura, who officially said goodbye on May 1, 2025, closing his stage after five years and leaving a huge vacuum. Many saw her as the face of English vtubing, so her exit stuck hard. Before her, Nanashi Mumei, Ceres Fauna and Amelia Watson also left, which has left fans wondering who will be next.
But not everything is bad news. Despite these losses, Hololive Production remains very high in statistics. Used Pekora was crowned again as the most seen Vtuber in the world between January and March 2025, with 14.04 million hours seen, followed by Sakura Miko with 12.9 million. In third place appeared Kuzuha, a Vtuber of Nijisanji that also has a huge fans base, with 10.03 million hours. Another name of Nijisanji that slipped on the Top 10 was Kanae, with 5.35 million hours seen.
And speaking of new faces, Kikirara Vivi surprised everyone. This Vtuber debuted in November 2024 as part of Hololive Dev_is, and although its start was calm, it ended in eighth place in the world ranking with 4.94 million hours seen. The reason? His participation in Minecraft’s massive event “New World” in February, where he broadcast more than 125 hours in just twelve days. The event was key to take it off.
We must also mention Koseki Bijou, by Hololive English Advent, who has been gaining a lot of popularity lately. Thanks to the same Minecraft event and its charisma, many fans already see it as Gawr Gura’s natural successor within Hololive in.
So yes, although graduations hurt, Hololive Production has shown that it still has a lot of power and new Vtubers ready to take over.
