A week after the murder of Hana Ali Rosales Sierra, a 19 -year -old, beauty queen and tourism governor in Huajuapan de León, the Oaxaca Prosecutor’s Office confirmed the arrest of three people involved in the case: their sentimental ex -partner, a friend and a doctor.
The first reports point out that the young woman died on April 25 after an argument with her partner, identified as “El Joshua”, who allegedly shot him in the chest inside a house located on Mártirs de Chicago street.

The prosecution reported that after the crime, the couple tried to manipulate the scene to make believe that it was suicide. However, the authorities analyzed the circumstances of the fact and the evidence collected, and arrested the aggressor for feminicide.
The authorities also arrested Edwin “N”, a friend of the alleged aggressor, who would have gone to the home to help him escape after the murder. Both are waiting for their legal status to be determined.
A third involved is a doctor, who received an arrest warrant for crimes of improper preservation of indications and cover -up. He was arrested in Huajuapan de León for his alleged participation in the alteration of evidence in the Medical Registry.
Investigate the case as femicide
The State Prosecutor’s Office investigates the murder of Hana Ali with a gender perspective, applying the protocol for cases of femicide, due to the violence with which they deprived her of life and the background of a conflictive relationship with her ex -partner.
Before the crime, on April 22, it was reported that the young woman had been kidnapped by a criminal cell. In addition to his career and beauty queen, Hana Ali served as a governor of Tourism, Culture and Sports, and was the daughter of Alejandro Rosales Olmos, director of the drinking water system in Huajuapan.
Feminist organizations such as Green Marea have denounced that so far this year, at least five women have disappeared in the Mixteca region.
