In the year 2026 The fifth centenary of the creation of the Salamanca is celebrated. To commemorate this event, the University of Salamanca has created the Tatiana-Salamanca Foundation Chair with the support of the Tatiana Foundation of . The director of this new chair, María Martín Gómez, explains that the initiative was born as a of collaboration between both institutionsand is part of a broader project that seeks to recover the intellectual legacy of the Salamanca School. “I want to show my thanks to the Tatian Foundation for its support for this project,” he says.

The presentation of the chair will take place on May 23where the complete programming of planned activities will be announced. As a preamble of these celebrations, A conference cycle has already been launched under the title “doing Salamanca School”which seeks to connect historical issues with contemporary debates. “The Salamanca school dealt with issues of enormous , such as sovereignty and power, economic morals, , , or philosophy,” says Martín Gómez.

The renowned Harvard philosopher and professor Michael Sandel will open this conference cycle on May 6 at 7:00 p.m. at the University of Salamanca’s Paraninfo.
