The national Administration of Medicines, food and Medical Technology (ANMAT) on Monday ordered the immediate retirement of two brands of olive oil and one of honey of all supermarkets in the country. The measure was adopted after detecting serious irregularities in its labeling and lack of corresponding qualifications.
The affected products are:
– Extra virgin olive oil “El Riojanito”, 1000 cc. and 500 cc., Botanical variety Arauco, with elaboration date: July 2024.
– Extra -brand virgin olive oil, 2 -liter net content, with indication “consume preferably before July 2026”.
Both products lack establishment records and exhibit numbers of non -existent health records in their labels, which makes them illegal products. For this reason, Anmat determined that “they cannot be prepared, marketed or sold throughout the national territory.”
In parallel, the sale of honey marks “the region”, in presentations of 300 grs, was also prohibited. and 570 grs., Date of packaging of 06/20/2024 and expiration provided for 06/20/2026.
During an inspection carried out at the domicile indicated in the product label, it was found that it is a particular domicile, without qualification for food fractionation or elaboration activities.
In addition, it was detected that the product exhibits sanitary records belonging to another maker, configuring a falsification in its labeling.
The regulations indicate that given these irregularities, the products are out of circulation until their traceability and compliance with the current sanitary norms are guaranteed.
Consumers are recommended that they do not acquire these products and, if bought, refrain from consuming them and return them to the point of sale.
