This Monday, May 5, the governor of Antioquia, Andrés Julián Rendón asked President Gustavo Petro military assistance to recent attacks against the public force in the department. He also taught instructions and orders for the conservation and restoration of the public order in the Southwest, West, Bajo Cauca, Urabá and Northeast subregions.
“The provision of the Petro Government in front of this current criminal cannot be to enclose our uniformed in the barracks and police stations with the excuse of protecting their life. On the contrary, everyone to the street, to the paths, corregimientos, must provide them with capacities, give them strategic and tactical line, lift the cessation to fire, to harvest with military operations and appeal to their value to protect us and safeguard their life. The request is argued by the limitation of the National Police Strength in Antioquia and for the existing risk over its members.
To date, In the department there have been 27 attacks against the public force. They have also killed 11 uniformed and 26 have been injured, six of them seriously.
Besides, It was announced that the first resources collected from the safety and coexistence rate will be allocated to the purchase of vests and armored helmets for protection of soldiers and police officers.

“We invite mayors to take measures for the conservation and restoration of public order, with their territorial autonomy, in coordination with the military and police authorities with jurisdiction in their municipality,” he added.
In this way, he asked local leaders to adopt measures such as the restriction of operating schedules of public establishments, the consumption and sale of alcoholic beverages, the restrictions on mobility and/or curfew, in order to guarantee the life, integrity and safety of citizens.
The municipalities included in the decree are: Amagá, Andes, Angelopolis, Bethany, Betulia, Caramanta, Ciudad Bolívar, Concordia, Fredonia, Hispania, Jardín, Jericho, La Pintada, Montebello, Puebloorrico, Salgar, Santa Barbara, Támesis, Titiribí, Urrao, Valparaíso, Venice, Abriaquí, Anzá, Armenia, Armenia, Buritic, Cañasgordas, Dabeiba, Ebéjico, Frontino, Giraldo, Heliconia, Liborina, Olayaya, Little, Sabanalarga, San Jerónimo, Sopetrán, Uramita, Cáceres, Caucasia, El Bagre, Nechí, Tarazá, Zaragoza, Amalfi, Anorí, Cisneros, Remedios, San Roque, Santo Domingo, Santo Domingo, Santo Domingo, Santo Domingo Vegachí, Yalí, Yolombó, Apartadó, Arboletes, Carepa, Chigorodó, Murindó, Mutatá, Necoclí and San Juan de Urabá.
