Petro denounced on April 29 the “Systematic murder” of 27 members of the public force in a period of two weeks and attributed the crimes to a “Pistol Plan” of the Gulf Clan group and the guerrillas.
The country is going through its worst peak of violence since the signing of the Peace Agreement in 2016 with the guerrillas of the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia (FARC), amid frustrated negotiations between the government and the most powerful illegal organizations.

Traffic accident
An inverse search of the viral image on Google threw an article from the local media of the North with the same photo, published on April 27, 2025 and entitled: “Transit accident in Riohacha leaves four injured, including two minors.”
In the note it is mentioned that the accident occurred in the Rojas Pinilla neighborhood in Riohacha (North), capital of the department of La Guajira, when a car crashed “violently” Against a motorcycle in which a family was traveling formed by the two parents and two children.
Another article of the newspaper El Heraldo, published on the same date, indicates that the two minors were hospitalized due to the seriousness of the wounds. The child died two days later.
The Guajira police confirmed to the AFP that the image belongs to a road accident in Riohacha.
Another investigation in Google, this time with the words “La Guajira”, “Police” and “Attempt”, he showed media reports on an attack against a subintendent of the Gaula (special antiextory and antisecuestro group), of the National Police, which occurred on April 27, 2025 (1, 2). In the episode, described by the authorities as an attempt to theft, the officer’s son died.
