Steven Tyler and Soundgarden join Black Sabbath’s farewell

Within a few weeks – on July 5 to be more exact – the surprise meeting of the historical and original squad of the joint seminal will be produced. Ozzy Osbourne, Geezer Butler, Tony Iommi and Bill Ward will say goodbye at the Villa Park stadium of their native Birmingham against thousands of fans and several illustrious guests.

On the above, Steven Tyler’s presences and Soundgarden surviving members have been confirmed. The news was confirmed by Sharon Osbourne in an interview. In the case of Aerosmith’s frontman, it will be one of the few public appearances that he has had since he withdrew from the tours last year, while in the Seattle group, this news comes after confirming his induction to Rock & Roll Hall of Fame.

So far, the event will have the presence of Black Sabbath and performances of, among others, Metallica, Guns N ‘Roses, Tool, Slayer, Panther, Gojira, Alice In Chains, Billy Corgan, Chad Smith, Lzzy Hale and Fred Durst.

On the appointment, Tony Iommi confessed to having presented doubts at the beginning. “I was the one who said ‘I don’t know if we should do it’, because we made a farewell tour and did not want to do the same as other bands, saying that it is the last tour and then reappear,” he argued in a conversation with The Guardian. “But I was convinced, because we are doing it for a reason,” he added, commenting that the profits generated by the concert will go to several beneficial organizations of Birmingham.
