In the Los Magueyes subdivision, located in the northern sector of the Potosina capital, an emergency was recorded on Thursday afternoon, after the explosion of a gas tank inside a private home was recorded, leaving as a balance an injured woman and considerable material damage.
The events occurred shortly after 4:30 p.m., when residents of Camino Real Street reported to 911 a rumble that cimbated several nearby homes. Immediately, Municipal Civil Protection elements, Metropolitan Firefighters, paramedics and officers of the State Civil Guard mobilized to the place of the incident.
Upon arrival, the emergency teams located a woman of approximately 40 years of age with burns in different parts of the body, product of the outbreak. Paramedics gave him attention to the site and, later, was transferred to a hospital for specialized evaluation and treatment.
The authorities cordoned off the area to avoid the entry of curious and prevent greater risks, while the inspection and removal of debris were performed.
The affected property presented visible structural damage in the kitchen and part of the facade, although fortunately there were no more people inside at the time of the explosion.
According to the first expert opinions, the probable cause of the incident was a gas leak accumulated in the cuisine of the home, which, when coming into contact with a spark, caused the outbreak. Civil Protection personnel reviewed other nearby homes to rule out additional leaks and guarantee the safety of the inhabitants of the area.
