Actress Lina Tejeiro is one of the personalities of the entertainment world in Colombia that has more followers on social networks. These platforms have become the environment that she not only presents her new projects on television, but also part of her life.
Thanks to her charisma and sense of humor, many have cataloged her as the ‘Queen of Tiktok’, because it usually shares videos that quickly become viral for their funny interpretations and creativity.
With the passage of time, Tejeiro has also become one of the most beloved actresses by Colombians and has managed to consolidate their career in television and cinema.
In a conversation in the Videopodcast without filter in week, Lina talked about her beginnings in the world of performance when she was still a girl. He began his career at 9 years with small papers, but his recognition obtained it in parents and children, one of the most popular series in Colombia.
“After I did these small chapters, they call the director of those unitary from Colombian television, who was the producer of parents and children and gave characteristics to find a girl for a character in that production. He said that he knew a girl, they recommended us and called us on January 6, 2002.”
He added: “I was in a pool in La Dorada, Caldas, because I was on vacation and I didn’t want to go to casting. My mother asked me and I told him no, but they asked if we had a video of jobs that I have done to see the work, they went to pick it up at the house and we didn’t know more. On January 14 they called my mother and told him to collect librettos and recording plans. ”
Although at that time he was only thinking about his vacation, without knowing that call he would change his life because from that moment he entered the world of television.
“I did not have to do casting, simply, they saw me in the video and they accepted me. There this wonderful character started where I spent five years playing Sammy. I made myself known to many generations and that was the school that helped me to train. ”
-Although 23 years have passed, he still remembers how much he earned at that time where he was 11 years old.
“They paid me for chapter about 200 or 300 thousand pesos, but per month I could record 15 or 20 chapters. At that time I made 3 or 4 million pesos. Depended on the chapters. ”
As his role was a success and had extensive continuity, he had problems at school and there came a time where his mother asked for decisions.
“My mom one day told me that I had to make a decision because I had already lost for failures and did not want to see me. He asked me: did you want to study or work? As I already knew the money, because I was working and I last like this until the age of 13 and went to validate, I kept losing for failures because we recorded every day.”
Added: “Then I started studying at a distance by guides, that was 16 years old and I took the school ahead. What did I learn? Nothing (laughs), but I fulfilled.”
Although in Colombia it is usual that the model to follow is that a person must study at school, later at the university, get a place to live their own and marry, Lina believes that in his case that “mold” was broken although he recognizes that the study is vital, but that his time was different from today.
“It was not the formula that worked for me, but I am sure that you should study. Today I find many shortcomings in several aspects of my life that I would surely have learned at school.”
For example, in her facet as an entrepreneur she feels that she needed school preparation. “When undertaken, numbers and topics are seen that one does not understand and it is understood that the study is needed.”
