Francisco Melo experienced an unexpected turn in his life after a particularly intense scene in the television series Paradise Island. What began as a passionate interpretation in 2018 ended up being the first warning of a health problem that years later would lead to surgery.

After this performance, the actor felt such a sharp back pain that he almost left him motionless. It was his colleague Andrés Velasco who, trying to help him, made an even deeper discomfort evident in his hips.
“I arrived at the dressing room and a friend of mine, Andrés Velasco, tells me, to see, go on the floor, I’m going to stretch your back a little. The operation
Four years after that scene, in 2022, Melo began to experience an increase in pain, which led him to perform several medical exams. Finally, he received a clear diagnosis: bilateral hips.
Given this situation, the actor underwent surgery in which prostheses were implanted, followed by a recovery process that included kinesiology sessions, allowing him to recover mobility in a short period of time.
“With an operation like mine, mechanically speaking, muscularly speaking, you are very depressed and you have to recover. It is a process, and for that you need a lot of kinesitherapy. My goal was to be well at six months, because I needed to start a television series. And at six months I was ready! I focused. In much of that 2022, I did nothing more, I dedicated myself only to this, “he confessed.
