The Max platform has announced the global premiere of its new biographical series, Chespirito: unintentionally wanting, which will be available from June 5. As reported by Warner Bros. Discovery, the production will have a total of eight episodes that will be launched weekly every Thursday, offering an intimate tour of the life and work of Roberto Gómez Bolaños, the creator of some of the most iconic characters in Latin American television.
The series, produced by Warner Bros. Discovery, in collaboration with Media and Blue Thr3, promises to explore not only the artistic legacy of Gómez Bolaños, but also the personal sacrifices that marked their way to success. As detailed by the platform, the plot covers from her childhood to the 80s, showing how a young dreamer managed to make her way in the nascent television industry, while facing the challenges of fame and complexities of her personal life.
Chespirito: Without wanting to focus on the figure of Roberto Gómez Bolaños, known worldwide as Chespirito, and on the endearing characters he created, such as the Chavo del 8, the Chapulín Colorado and Dr. Chapatín. The series not only recreates key moments of his career, but also deepens the most human aspects of the comedian, including the difficult decisions he made in his search to be recognized and loved.
Actor Pablo Cruz has been chosen to play Gómez Bolaños in his adult stage, while Iván Aragon will give life to the creator in his youth. In addition, the cast includes Barbara López as Margarita Ruiz, known for her role as Doña Florinda, and Miguel Islas as Ramón Valdés, the unforgettable Don Ramón.
