Venezuela participated in the XLIII International Tourism Fair of Cuba (Fitcuba 2025), with a broad representation of the Ministry of Popular Power for Tourism, together with 58 nations and more than 1,500 foreign professionals, among which are tour operators, travel agencies and international press, as part of this event in which the People’s Republic of China was the guest country of honor.
During the aforementioned meeting, which took place in the Morro Cabaña Historical Museum, the Venezuelan delegation, headed by the head for Tourism, Leticia Gómez, participated in inter -institutional meetings, in which he shared successful experiences of the tourism sector.
He also had an outstanding intervention at the VII Meeting of Ministers, Ministers and High Tourism Authorities of the Bolivarian alliance for the peoples of Our America-Treaty of Commerce of the Peoples (ALBA-TCP), with the purpose of strengthening the union and empowerment of the sector in the region; in which, in addition, Cuba and Venezuela signed an agreement to continue the impulse of academic cooperation in tourism.
During her speech at the Alba-TCP meeting, Minister Leticia Gómez stressed that, within the alliance, tourism “has a horizon of infinite possibilities”, so from Venezuela strategic lines are executed to boost all its potential, through the formation of specialized human talent.
The visit of the Venezuelan delegation to Havana led to the review of the advances for the implementation of the Venetur commercial office, as part of the work that jointly develop the ministries of popular power for tourism and foreign relations, through the Embassy and the Consulate General of Venezuela in Cuba, in order to boost multidestine tourism between both countries, with the incorporation of Russia and China.
It is worth mentioning that these actions are executed in monitoring of the strategic lines adopted by the President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, from the plan of the seven transformations (7t) 2030, to strengthen, not only the Venezuelan tourism sector, but the entire productive apparatus of the country.
