Estudiantes de La Plata beat Vélez on penalties after drawing 1-1 in regulation time and became champion of the League Cup this Sunday in Santiago del Estero.

What Matías Mansilla said after becoming champion with Estudiantes

Mansilla explained why they lifted the League Cup: “We went to play as equals on all the fields, we beat the best and we have a terrible humility, in addition to the people we accompany.”

He also referred to his position, after Mariano Andújar, an emblem of the club: “I knew that coming from Central Córdoba was difficult, I came to work, I didn’t come to replace anyone; When things didn’t go the way I wanted, I was stronger and worked twice as hard.”

Finally, Mansilla revealed the details that he had no information about Álvaro Montoro: “This definition was more difficult because they did not have as many penalties kicked, there were many boys. And I guessed the last one.”
