Since his departure from Atlético Nacional in August 2022, Giovanni Moreno He is without a team and although many consider him retired, the truth is that there was never a statement from the player announcing it.
Given this, rumors about his arrival at another Colombian soccer club were fueled, but Gio still did not sign with anyone. Later, Moreno wanted to regain his rhythm and that is why he went to play in the Kings League Americas where he played for James Rodríguez’s club, but after fulfilling his commitments there, the player was lost from the public eye.
However, this Monday, Gio broke the silence and dialogue with Telemedellín on several topics, one of them the possibility of playing professionally again after two years, the current situation of Nacional and the good moment of the experienced scorers in the Betplay 2024 League. YO.

Regarding the possibility of returning to Colombian football, Gio revealed that there were talks with Once Caldas, more precisely with coach Hernán Darío Herrera, but that his desire is to stay in Medellín.
“I spoke with Hernán and he told me that if I accompanied him for at least a semester and I told him to become a champion there with Once Caldas so that he could come direct Envigado and we would talk,” he said at the beginning.
And he added about his desire to go to Envigado that: “The idea is to put together a group to help this quarry of which we were part of. There were players who reached this age that we have now and the idea is to set an example and guide young people.”

The issue now is not about the change of management, but the idea is for those at the top to put the team back to where it was.”
