Deportivo Cali is already thinking about the second semester, where the sugar team’s main objective will be to stay in the first division, given that in 2024 it is seriously conditioned by the issue of relegation, and must strengthen itself in the best way.
Faced with this situation that the Valle del Cauca will have in this second semester, the technical director of the sugar team, Hernán Torres, would have already made a decision for the transfer market.
According to journalist Juan Felipe Sierra, Deportivo Cali would seek to sign central defender Sergio Mosquera, who left Atlético Nacional after the 30-year-old player terminated his contract and is currently a free agent. And it was a request from Hernán Torres to the board of directors.
It is worth mentioning that Torres directed Mosquera during his time at Deportes Tolima, where he consolidated the center back as one of the best in the FPC and ended up being champion in 2021 with the pijaos.
Currently Mosquera is not at his best level, due to injuries and little participation he had in the final stretch of the first semester with Nacional. Although this showed that the center-back managed to play 40 games and play 2,600 minutes in a year and a half with the Purslanes.
