Patricio Gómez Benavides, candidate for mayor of Santiago, is willing to comply the dream that every fan of the U has: the construction of its own stadium.

Through his TikTok account, Gómez, who will run as an independent, pointed out that if he manages to be the mayor of the commune, will fight so that the University of Chile has its own house. Where? Nothing less than in O’Higgins Park.

The promise of the stadium for the U

“As I have always told you: I love Santiago and I want to come to Santiago to build. We have health problems and in various aspects, but I have a project that is very important for part of society, since we cannot leave anyone out,” he began by saying and later announced where he wants to build it.

“I want to build the stadium of the University of Chile in Parque O’Higgins. With your support and your sponsorship, we can achieve it. “I want to bring together the club leadership, the fans, the owners of the land and the investors so that we can build, together, the glorious U stadium,” he expressed.

The constitutional lawyer continued: “We must bring together the blue family that has been going from one place to another since 1948 and that has not been able to find a place to settle and be local. As I have said, I come to build and I will do so taking into account the needs of all people, not just a few.”

Gómez assures that the stadium project for the U will mean income

“Things have to be done thinking about the happiness of all the inhabitants of Santiago. “This is a nice project for the commune, because this will not be a waste of money, but rather it will mean income so that Santiago continues to grow more and more,” he added.

Finally, he made a call to the inhabitants of Santiago. “Maybe you are not a fan of the University of Chile, but this will be an investment not only with a sports field, but also with an athletic and skating track. I will develop all of that,” he concluded.
