The Uruguayan National Team has the numbers of its shirts confirmed for the CONMEBOL Copa América dispute that will begin next Thursday, June 20, and in which La Celeste will be present in Group C along with the United States, Panama and Bolivia.
The numbers, confirmed by the South American Football Confederation, confirm that Luis Suárez will use the ‘9’, while Darwin Núñez will play with the ’19’. The 21, used for many years by Edinson Cavani, will be worn by midfielder Emiliano Martínez, since the Matador will not be present in the continental tournament after having announced the end of his cycle with the Uruguayan team. The ‘5’, which had been worn by Matías Vecino, will be for Manuel Ugarte, while the 26 will be worn by Brian Ocampo, repeating the number with which he played in the 2021 Copa América in Brazil.
