The 2024 United States Copa América is already underway with Argentina’s victory over Canada. The Albiceleste team responded to its favorite sign, winning 2-0 at the Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta.

Unfortunately, the result on the field is not the only thing that is being talked about in these later hours, since once again racist attacks are being present in this type of international tournaments.

The person affected now is Moise Bombito, a Canadian player who fouled Lionel Messi strongly during the match and then was filled with racist insults on his social networks.

The Canadian team took action on the matter and wrote a statement on its official channels, confirming that they are already in communication with Concacaf and Conmebol to address this sad fact.

“Canada is aware and deeply disturbed by the racist comments directed at one of our players after tonight’s game. “We are in communication with Concacaf and Conmebol about this matter,” they published.

In addition, Moise Bombito left another message through a personal Instagram story. “My beautiful Canada. There is no place for that shit,” he published in reference to the messages received.

When does Canada play again in the 2024 Copa América?

The Canadian team will return to action against Peru next Tuesday, June 25 at 6:00 p.m. (Chile time) against Sporting Park Stadium in Kansas.
