The Uruguay’s victory against Bolivia with a score of 5-0 it is, so far, the largest result in the 2024 edition of the Copa América.

Despite the difference in the score, this result is not the most lopsided of the competition, which has the national teams of Argentina, Uruguay and Brazil in the top-10 of the biggest wins in history of this contest.

To get to the biggest win we have to go back to 1942, when the tournament was played in Uruguay and there, the national team Argentina defeated Ecuador 12-0.

The second place in the Top-3 of biggest goalscorings is also held by Argentina, but in the 1975 edition with 11-0 given to Venezuela.

The third place on the podium is completed by Brazil in the Copa América that was played on its territory in 1949, on that occasion the hosts beat Bolivia 10-1.

In the table of historical goal-scoring in the Copa América, the result that has been recorded the most is the 7-0 that has had as protagonists the national teams of Uruguay, Paraguay, Brazil and Chile, inflicting this score on rivals from Ecuador, Colombia, Bolivia, Paraguay, Venezuela, Peru and Mexico.

The Colombian National Team appears in the top-10 list, in positions 5 and 6 after receiving two defeats in the 1957 editions in Peru, when they lost 9-0 against Brazil and in Chile 1945 when they lost 9-1 against Argentina.

In the 1945 edition, the Tricolor did not have a good time, as they were also beaten 7-0 by Uruguay.

The selections of Ecuador and Bolivia occupy the last two boxes in the history of the teams that have conceded the most goals in the Copa América, with a difference of 190 and 193 goals; while Argentina has the best goal average, since it appears with 474 in favor, followed by Brazil with 430 and Uruguay with 410.

The current edition of Copa América still has 17 days of competition, since the new champion will be known on July 14.
