Richard Carapaz delivered in the first stage of the Tour de France and finished 5 seconds behind the leader

The Ecuadorian cyclist, Richard Carapaz of the EF Education-EasyPost team finished 22nd in the first stage of the Tour de France. The Locomotive finished next to the platoon, just 5 seconds of the winner of the day, Romain Bardet.

The first stage had a route of 207 kilometersbetween the localities Florence and Rimini. The intense heat was the protagonist in the competition, which affected the cyclists, among them Cavendish.

Carapaz and his team remained well organized on the course and made it through without any problems. With less than 60 kilometers to go to the finish line, the Ecuadorian He suffered a damage to his bicycle.
