Blackmagic continues to deepen its commitment to cinema cameras with the Pyxis 6K, a box format camera with a 6K sensor, 13-stop dynamic range and compatibility with L, PL or EF lenses.

The Blackmagic Pyxis model allows you to record in all the resolutions and frame rates common in 4K and 6K and even take pictures of 24.6 megapixels. Additionally, it supports frame rates up to 36 f/s at 6048 x 4032 with the full sensor or 60 f/s 6048×2520 (2.4:1) and 60 f/s 4096×2160 in DCI 4K format. Using higher values provides the opportunity to reduce the usable area of the sensor and film at 120 f/s in 2.8K resolution (2868 x 1512, 17:9),
The system comes in three versions that adapt the system to objectives L, EF or PL. The L lens mount version allows you to use the latest full-frame models developed by Leica, Panasonic and Sigma, while also providing compatibility with a wide range of new and classic lenses through the use of adapters. For its part, the EF mount version supports photographic lenses from digital SLR cameras (DSLR) or even those used in Blackmagic Pocket Cinema Camera models, while the PL version offers the opportunity to work with professional lenses from manufacturers such as Zeiss, Arri and Cooke without the need for an adapter.

H.264 proxy can be uploaded to the platform Blackmagic Cloud “in a matter of seconds”, which makes it possible for the content to be available in the studio “instantly”. This data upload can be executed through the data connection provided by an iPhone or Android phone connected through the camera’s USB-C port, although the system also integrates Ethernet connections. In any case, the camera’s viewfinder and screen are capable of displaying the transmission status and transfer speed.
Connectivity and accessories
