As is usual around this time, the market analysis company Counterpoint Research has published a report with the best-selling mobile phones in the world during the first quarter of 2024 and the truth is that this ranking has not brought many surprises, since Apple and Samsung continue to dominate the global smartphone market.

So, Four different iPhone models occupy the top four positions in the list prepared by Counterpointwhile a total of 5 Samsung Galaxy are present in the ranking of the best-selling smartphones in the world in the first three months of 2024.

The first position in the ranking created by Counterpoint Research is occupied by the iPhone 15 Pro Max with a market share of 4.4% and the second is for the standard iPhone 15 with a 4.3% market share. These two are closely followed by an iPhone 15 Pro that closes the podium with a market share of 3.7% and an iPhone 14 that is in fourth place with a market share of 1.9%.

The first Android smartphone on this list is the Korean giant’s most recent flagship, a Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra that It occupies fifth position in the ranking with the same market share as the iPhone 14, 1.9%.

Finally, the last two rungs of the ‘top ten’ of best-selling smartphones in the world in the first quarter of 2024 are occupied by the Samsung Galaxy S24 and Galaxy A34, both with a market share of 1%.

If we compare the data with those of the first quarter of the previous year, we see that both the iPhone 15 Pro Max and the Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra have sold better than their predecessors, since the iPhone 14 Pro Max occupied second place in the 2023 ranking with a market share of 4.3% and the Galaxy S23 Ultra was ranked as the sixth best-selling smartphone of 2023 with a market share of 1.3%.
