New data leaked from the next Xiaomi Mix Fold 4 and Mix Flip

The Xiaomi Mix Fold 4 is on the way, along with the Mix Flip, the company’s first flip-type foldable. Mix Fold 4 specs were leaked in March, and the Mix Flip has already been certified in China with support for satellite connectivity.

Some new details for both devices have been revealed today, coming from the prolific leaker who calls himself Digital Chat Station on Weibo. According to him, the Mix Fold 4 will be the new record holder for the thinnest foldable smartphone, taking the crown from the Honor Magic V2. Both Xiaomi foldables will be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset, and will have the same 50 MP 1/1.55″ main camera with OIS.

Both will also have a 60 MP 2x Omnivision OV60A telephoto lens with a size of 1/2.8″, and a 12 MP wide angle lens. The Mix Flip stops here, but the Mix Fold 4 adds a fourth camera: a 10MP periscopic telephoto lens with 5x zoom. The Mix Fold 4 will also have an IP rating for the first time in the series, as well as support for wireless charging.

The Mix Fold 4 and Mix Flip will launch in the third quarter of this year according to the same source, so sometime between July and September. Depending on when exactly in the quarter they come to market, the timing could be quite unfortunate, considering that the Xiaomi 15 will debut with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 SoC in mid-October.

Unfortunately, both the Mix Fold 4 and Mix Flip will likely remain confined to China and will not be officially launched internationally, hopefully not.
