To begin with, and unlike Twitch or YouTube, There was never a Twitter application in the eShop. However, the Big N allows us to link our Nintendo accounts with the social network profile, which had a specific use for some games (for example Splatoon 2 and Splatoon 3), the ability to share screenshots and find friends. To be fair, and after the official announcement, the latter is perhaps the only thing we will miss.

Regarding screenshots or videos, the alternatives that Nintendo leaves us with are more cumbersome: either we transfer them to the PC through an SD card or we transfer them to a smart device by scanning two QR codes and connect to the console network. However, we will continue to receive suggestions from those mobile and tablet contacts, in addition to those who have associated their account with a Nintendo 3DS or Wii U, in addition to the options of finding friends with whom we have played or through friend codes. .

Nintendo gives us a month to share screenshots and take a final look at the friendship suggestions in X and, as we mentioned, the next to disappear will be Facebook. We have to cross our fingers that its already confirmed successor has better and more interesting social functions, which is not really difficult for a console that has triumphed in sales and has captivated millions of players.
