Everything that Apple did not present at its last event and is just around the corner

Apple’s year of launches will be intense and what has been seen in these first months is nothing more than an appetizer of everything they are about to present.

This 2024 is already being intense for Apple in terms of launches. It debuted in a big way in February with the launch of the Vision Pro, although limited to the United States. Then the MacBook Air M3 arrived and now it is the iPad Air 2024 and iPad Pro M4 that have been presented along with the Apple Pencil Pro and the new Magic Keyboard. But there is still a lot left. Everything still remains.

Apple’s launches have only just begun. It is something that we know if we take a look at the forecasts for 2024, obtained thanks to leaks and also logic based on the company’s history. We therefore review everything that is yet to come.

The software will be the first to arrive and will be within a month

After the ‘Let Loose’ event, the next confirmed appointment with Apple is that of June 10th with WWDC 2024 in which the presentation of new operating systems for its devices is expected. From that day on, its betas will arrive and with a final release for the public planned for September.

  • iOS 18: artificial intelligence, a little artificial intelligence and perhaps artificial intelligence combined with artificial intelligence seasoned with artificial intelligence with new features in artificial intelligence that bring changes in artificial intelligence. Yes, AI will be the absolute protagonist of the news. It will surpass the competition, equal it or fall below it, it remains to be seen, but it is already more than confirmed by Apple that all these new systems will bring important improvements in this field and in iOS it will be the deepest.
  • iPadOS 18: identical new features to iOS 18 are expected in the iPad operating system, since by adapting the interface to that of a large screen, in the end we have always seen how iPadOS does not actually stop being iOS no matter how much it changed its name a few years ago .
  • macOS 15: to specify a little the AI that would also reach Macs, great improvements are expected in the suite of Pages, Numbers and Keynote applications with a deep interaction of that AI to greatly facilitate the use and creation of content in those apps .
  • watchOS 11: artificial intelligence in Apple Watch could make all the sense in the world when it comes to health and training. It is easy to imagine suggestions based on our physical condition and even a complete renewal of the Fitness app. We will see.
  • visionOS 2: Everything is an absolute mystery in Apple’s youngest operating system, because despite coming without major shortcomings, it still has a long way to improve. If we also add AI, even more so.
  • tvOS 18: despite being the system least in need of new features, the aesthetic section could be different in this Apple TV software, which could draw on the transparencies of the interface that visionOS already has.

Not one, not two. Up to five iPhones will arrive this year

Whether you like it more or less, the iPhone 16 will be the stars of the year at Apple. Not in vain are the iPhones still the product that generates the most income for Apple. Besides, this year a new ‘SE’ is expected:

  • iPhone 16: new colors, action button and a processor more similar to that of the ‘Pro’ will be the main novelties of a 6.1-inch iPhone 16 that will once again have a design similar to its predecessors.
  • iPhone 16 Plus: identical case to the previous one, but this time on an iPhone that will once again opt for a 6.7-inch screen diagonal.
  • iPhone 16 Pro: an even more advanced processor than the previous ones, a panel that will grow to 6.3 inches, the same cameras as the ‘Max’ model and the debut of a new button that will allow you to obtain quick camera functions.
  • iPhone 16 Pro Max: If the previous one grows in screen, this one also does so, reaching 6.9 inches and being the largest iPhone in history. Identical features to the ‘Pro’, but improving the battery and having an improved zoom as its star feature.
  • iPhone SE (4th gen.): a finally all-screen design, although with a notch. It is expected to be very similar in that sense to an iPhone 14, although again with a single camera as happened in previous ‘SE’.

We still have two iPads left to see

We already warned these days that there are two iPads yet to be launched after the two highest ranges have been renewed. One of them is not clear that it will be launched this year, but it has not yet been ruled out.

  • iPad (11th gen.): It is the “normal” iPad, the iPad without surnames. A model aimed at a large mass of the public because it is the cheapest and would inherit the design of its predecessor, only changing the processor for a more updated chip than the A14 Bionic that the iPad (10th gen.) has.
  • iPad mini (7th gen.): Apart from correcting some problems with the screen of the 2021 iPad mini, knowing that it will update its processor and that it will probably be compatible with the Apple Pencil Pro, not much else is known. In fact, rumors point more to 2025 than this year, although we insist that it is not ruled out yet.

New Macs with new brains inside

Only a few months have passed since Apple presented the M3 chips and we already have the M4 chip with us thanks to the iPad Pro. This could push Macs to now bring a processor from this series, which although technically similar to the M3, stands out by adding more cores in the neural engine (ideal for running AI locally). Besides, we still have to know the M4 Pro, M4 Max and M4 Ultra.

  • MacBook Pro 2024: After learning about the M3 MacBook Pro just six months ago, it would be time to see new ones with M4 Pro and M4 Max chips. As of today, it is unknown if they will have more new features, but they aim to be identical in design to what we have been seeing for the last two years.
  • Mac Studio 2024: the professional desktop par excellence with permission of the ‘Pro’. It is expected to integrate M4 Max and M4 Ultra chips with improvements in performance and efficiency.
  • Mac Pro 2024: identical case to the previous one, but with M4 Ultra and even better specifications in what is undoubtedly the best (and most expensive) computer of the brand.
  • Mac mini 2024: The way in which the smallest of the Macs would arrive on the market and whether it will debut with M3 or M4 is somewhat in doubt. Also if they will add a ‘Pro’ version of the chip again. However, we will clear up doubts in a few months.
  • iMac 2024: after three years without seeing a new iMac, it sounds strange to think that they will renew it in a year, but stranger things have been seen. Perhaps it will be used to offer versions with M4 while continuing to sell the M3, but it does not seem to be very defined yet.

Something special for the tenth anniversary of the Apple Watch

This year is special, as it marks ten years since Apple introduced its first smartwatch. Hence we could see something special in the standard model in the month of September.

  • Apple Watch Series 10: perhaps called ‘Series Improvements are also expected in the health section in terms of measuring blood pressure, although not glucose, which is something that still seems like it will take us a few years to see in an Apple Watch.
  • Apple Watch Ultra 3: It was expected for 2026 at least, but in the end it seems that there will be a third Ultra this year. Of course, with very few improvements according to analysts close to Apple’s supply chain.
  • Apple Watch SE (2024): After learning about the Apple Watch SE 2022 a couple of years ago and that in 2023 there would be a very slight renovation, it is not unreasonable to imagine that this year another of these editions will come with new design features covering more screen and even, who knows, adding ‘Always On Display’. In any case, it is not confirmed.

The most ‘Pro’ “normal” AirPods that we will see

New AirPods are expected this year after a 2023 in which we did not see a single one. In addition, they will be very special headphones despite their range.

  • AirPods (4th gen.): There are expected to be up to two models of AirPods 4, one of them with noise cancellation, finally bringing one of the best features of the ‘Pro’ to these cheaper headphones. It is even rumored that within the series there could be even cheaper ones and that there were three of them, although there is not much data on this yet.
  • AirPods Max (2nd gen.): Far from being a profound improvement, it will update its USB-C connector, add some minimal improvement in sound and bring new colors. Therefore, at the expense of there being surprises, it is better not to be excessively optimistic with this high-end Apple headset.

Other products that could also debut in these months

Of course, we do not forget other product categories that could also have their space this year. It is not very clear that they will arrive, but since there are rumors about their launches at some point, it is advisable to take them into account with the “just in case” label:

  • Vision Pro to new countries: It is something that Tim Cook himself confirmed would happen and could be within the framework of WWDC. Of course, it is not advisable to be very optimistic if you live in Spain, since everything indicates that it will be limited again to countries like Australia, Canada, China and the United Kingdom.
  • Apple TV 4K (2024): without it being yet clear if it would be launched this year and in what month, it seems that the next Apple TV will not only be more powerful than the previous ones, but could even integrate a camera to make FaceTime video calls on the screen big.
  • HomePod with screen: It is an old desire of many and it would broadly be an iPad attached to a speaker. Something like a Nest Hub aimed at very specific uses. Although it is true that there is evidence of testing of this device by Apple, its viability in the market would still be studied by Apple.
  • HomePod mini (2nd gen.): Apart from renewing colors, it is expected to bring important improvements in sound that, despite not reaching that of a large HomePod, could mean an even more rounded product. If it arrives this year, it would do so in September, but it is not yet clear.
  • AirPods Pro (3rd gen.): We have not included them in the list of AirPods because we frankly doubt they will be released this year. No leak points to it, nor to its news. In any case, it is another one that sooner or later will have to be renewed.
