Tecno focuses on the camera in the Camon series. This can be seen in the great design of the rear, but also in the four built-in sensors, each with a resolution of 50 Mpixels. The Sony IMX890 is used in the main camera.
In addition to the main camera, Tecno has installed an ultra-wide-angle camera and a periscopic camera with triple optical zoom. Tecno also relies on a dedicated chip for image processing (Sony CXD5622GG), which should ensure better results, especially in night shots.
In fact, images and videos are particularly impressive in bright light. The images have good dynamic range and great sharpness. The ultra-wide-angle camera can also be used for macro shots and the results are impressive. The zoom lens also offers good results, but in combination with digital magnification the sharpness drops significantly.
The images are usable in low light, but they are no longer really sharp. Video recordings are possible with all lenses at a maximum of 4K and 60 FPS. Video stabilization works well, as does autofocus and lighting adjustment.
The front camera also offers a resolution of 50 MP. Portraits are usually reliable, individual hairs push the software to its limits. Overall, the camera offers many software features, such as a “super night mode”, time-lapse, slow motion, AI portrait effects, and augmented reality. It also has a Pro mode, in which the exposure time, ISO, white balance and focus can be selected manually.
