How to create stickers with AI on WhatsApp

A few months ago, Meta presented its Meta AI assistant, which will be present in applications such as Messenger, Instagram and WhatsApp. While the assistant is generally only available in English and in a small selection of countries, select AI features are already rolling out to more users around the world.

This is the case of one of the most fun capabilities of Meta’s artificial intelligence: the ability to create stickers with AI.

To create AI stickers in a WhatsApp conversation, simply open the stickers panel and tap the Create option. If you have this option enabled, you will see a new Generate with AI option. A message will appear explaining the functionality and you can click Continue.

You’ll see some options for sticker requests you can make to the AI and you can write pretty much whatever you want in the text field. Although it is supposed to only be available in English, we managed to write our requests in Spanish without problems.

Your sticker description is not limited in length. You can write from a single word to an entire paragraph describing what you want. Automatically, the AI in WhatsApp will try to create four sticker options and you can select one of these to send in your conversation or even save to your favorite stickers.

After generating the image, WhatsApp gives you the option to edit the sticker. Thus, you can add text, drawings, speech bubbles, emojis, dynamic stickers and even other stickers that you have saved to mix them as you want and send them to your contacts.

The vast majority of requests can be generated without problem, although sometimes, with references to specific personalities or with more explicit requests, it can show you more generic stickers or not give you results at all, something that reflects the terms and conditions of the use of these functions with AI.

WhatsApp continues to display the option to create stickers with AI, so the function may not yet be available on your phone. At the time of writing this note, we were able to use the option on an Android and we could not use it on an iPhone, even with the same WhatsApp account.

Fortunately, it appears that Meta is not enforcing a limit on the number of stickers that can be generated.
