Yesterday, the release date was announced for Beyond Good and Evil 20th Anniversary Edition, a revision of Hillys’ story with Jade, Pey’J, Double H and other colorful characters in an adventure that literally leads to Moon. The title, which will have new features such as the anniversary gallery or a re-recorded soundtrack, now confirms an unprecedented mission key for the future.

The game’s website reports that this new edition will also include more details about Jade’s childhood and her connection to Beyond Good & Evil 2 thanks to a new treasure hunt throughout Hillys in which you can earn exclusive cosmetic rewards as you progress through the game and explore the planet.

Ubisoft previewed Beyond Good and Evil 2 with a trailer back in 2008, although after almost a decade of silence it was not shown again until E3 2017, when the company revealed new information about this continuation that will truly be a prequel. It was at E3 2019 when the title starred in a live event in which no new images were shown, but instead offered different details, such as the incorporation of a new Ubisoft studio that joined the teams from Barcelona, Bordeaux, Mainz, Montpelier and Sofia.

The return of Beyond Good & Evil

It is evident that Beyond Good & Evil 2 is still going through complications to see the light, but the remastering of its original work will serve as a preview. The 20th anniversary of the title will rediscover its origins with unpublished designs and videos, exclusive anecdotes and secret content. Players will be able to enjoy its proposal through improved graphics, new controls and a re-recorded soundtrack with a live orchestra under the direction of Christophe Héral.

Among other new features, there will be a new speed mode, without the option to save games, and challenges with more than 20 achievements. Players will once again explore Hillys, a sea planet full of life and exotic locations with Jade, a brave photographer, in her fight against the DomZ aliens while facing challenges, solving puzzles and participating in mini-games in this pioneering adventure.
