OnePlus Nord CE4 Lite: The European model debuts with a lower nominal capacity than the Indian version

The Nord CE 3 Lite successor is officially here as a smartphone with the new camera hump, albeit with a traditional dual-tone flash instead of the more modern ring LED. The OEM’s proud tradition of clumsy launches at various levels is maintained.

With its 6.67-inch Aqua Touch-enabled display, “Absurdly brilliant“(with 900 nits HBM and 2,100 nits peak modes) FHD AMOLED the CE4 Lite is, in effect, a rebranding of the Snapdragon 695-powered OPPO K12x – with an unexpected twist for European customers.

The CE4 Lite for its market has been presented with a 5,110 mAh typical capacity battery, compared to the 5,500 mAh specification revealed for its Indian audience, as one would predict. (The difference cannot be explained by nominal nominal capacity, as OPPO notes that the K12x has a 5,375mAh.)

Despite this discrepancy (all the more disconcerting since OnePlus has no problem marketing the 12R as a 5,500 mAh device in Europe), the CE4 Lite has an autonomy of “50 minutes”. 80W wired charging regardless of region, not to mention the new Sony LYTIA LYT-600 50MP OIS sensor as the main rear camera.

The combination of an audio jack and expandable storage (which, unfortunately, is increasingly “Absurdly“rare in the smartphone market) also make their reappearance in this new OxygenOS 14-from OxygenOS Nord.

It is available for pre-order in Mega Blue or Mystic Silver with 8 GB of RAM for €279 (~$300, or 50 euros (~$54) off its recommended price), with an introductory price of INR 19,999 ( although starting with 128 GB of internal storage instead of 256 GB as in Europe) and an additional Ultra Orange SKU for India starting June 27, 2024.
