Bluetooth tags are in fashion. Apple has its AirTag, Samsung recently presented its SmarTag 2, and even Chinese manufacturers are jumping on the boat with especially economical proposals that are not afraid to compete with the best.

Motorola wanted to get on the bandwagon with its moto tag, its first Bluetooth tag. It supports the Google Find My Device network as well as UWB2 to offer even more precise tracking.

Like other Bluetooth tags, with a fairly compact design, the moto tag is designed to be used on any type of object. On any device it works under the Find My Device framework, to be able to locate our objects through the Google network.

In the event that we have a latest generation device with Ultra Wide Band 2, we will be able to determine the exact location of our device. Likewise, the moto tag has a rather curious button: one to find our cell phone.

Motorola has placed special emphasis on the security of the moto tag. User location data is end-to-end encrypted. Likewise, we can run a manual scan to check if there are any tags following us, in addition to being compatible with tracking notices on both iOS and Android (although it doesn’t work with Apple’s Search app).

To pair it, the Fast Pair protocol is used, the same one used by the best Bluetooth headphones on Android. All you have to do is take them out of the box, bring them close to the phone with Bluetooth active and press a button.

Like other Bluetooth tags, the moto tag uses a CR2032 battery that promises to last a year. It has an IP67 design, being compatible with immersion in fresh water for 1 meter for a maximum of 30 minutes.

Price and availability of the motorcycle tag

The moto tag will be on sale in Spain soon a recommended price of 39.99 euros per unitand 139.99 euros for a pack of four units.
